Short comedy play for seven actors about a villain who actually beats the hero... or does he?
Super Dead Man opens with a superhero mysteriously landing in a crater and crushing an old woman’s beloved prize dog, leaving townspeople bewildered and upset. As onlookers speculate wildly about what happened, the hero’s stressed-out sidekick insists the fallen figure was the planet’s greatest protector, though no one seems to remember his heroic feats. Chaos ensues with an over-dramatic police officer, a cool-looking villain named Mezmero, and a smart kid who ultimately stands up to evil in humorous fashion. The scene mixes slapstick, satire of superhero tropes, and witty dialogue to explore how everyday people react when “heroes” don’t live up to expectations and how unexpected characters step up in the face of absurd danger.
